OUR HISTORY

1970

Creation of the Inter-company Social Service (SSIE) and hiring of a social worker by the managers of the following Geneva-based companies: Caran d’Ache SA, Firmenich SA, Naville & Cie SA, Stern Frères SA, and Wittnauer & Cie SA. To this day, Caran d’Ache and Firmenich are still members of the association. The founding companies wanted to provide a high-quality response to the social difficulties encountered by their employees. This also aimed to improve the functioning of the company, which could sometimes be disrupted by these personal issues. The idea was to make a social work professional available to their employees, who could competently help find tailor-made solutions to the various problems in their personal lives.
